We had a full Do It Yourself (DIY) project in mind, where all you have learnt can be applied. This is with the Beaglebone, of course, but we added a new component for doing robotic control: the RoboCape. Sadly, we had to shelve this some time ago. Maybe we resume this idea in the future. Would you be interested?. Let us know.

Our DIY project is the Car-bone, based on the RoboCape and the Beaglebone Black. We will help you to build it from scratch following the concepts you will learn with the courses. Because someone could just be interested in high level software, like the algorithms controlling the carbone, we will also give all the final software and instructions for working with it.

The RoboCape has been designed for controlling servos, getting data from ultrasonics and infrared sensors, powering the Beaglebone with a battery, and using extra USB connectors for adding devices like a camera, a wireless chip, or whatever you want to put there.
We have docs and code for using the RoboCape and the Beaglebone as the control unit of the Carbone. About the car chassis, you can build your own one with a 3D printer using our design, or you can design your own chassis if you prefer so. We have also used some commercial chassis, which require some sort of adaptor, but it is not really hard to do it yourself. About the servos, sensors, battery, etc, it is up to you how to get them, although we give you some links and references. If we see a demand for it, we will sell all the components together, including the RoboCape and the car chassis, but by now this is not an option. Interested?
